Tucked into the suburbs between Akron and Cleveland, Cuyahoga Valley National Park is a wonder of greenery and waterfalls.

I drove 2,000 miles in 6 days, saw 6 National Parks, crossed 3 of the country’s major climatic zones, and traversed 4 different landscapes.

Carlsbad Caverns National Park sits 1,000 feet above Whites City. The first thing you notice entering the cavern is the temperature drop.

Guadalupe Mountains National Park is a smaller and lesser-known national park, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to do.

At 227 square miles, White Sands National Park is the largest gypsum dune field in the world.

The park’s namesake, the Saguaro cactus, grows up to forty feet tall, making it the largest cactus in the United States.

Joshua Tree National Park is an iconic desert getaway. At nearly 800,000 acres, it's larger than the state of Rhode Island.

Pinnacles National Park is home to plenty of caves, and therefore bats, as well as prairie falcons and California condors.

In the spring of 2022, I made a journey from Oakland, CA to Denton, TX and stopped at six National Parks along the way.
